How many states have I visited?
The live US map answers with N / 50 and a percentage — not a quiz, not a paid unlock.
Mark states as Visited or Lived. Those two statuses are “been there.” The count card in the HUD is that number over 50, plus the percent. Want stays on the map as a dashed outline and does not add to N.
Washington, D.C. is the exception people argue about. PlacesLit shows a D.C. badge if you marked the pin. It never increments /50 and never changes the percentage. Does D.C. count as a state visited?
There is no account. The working map is localStorage on this device. Want a poster? Share studio mints a /s link and can download a 9:16 Reel. Countries are a separate score on the world map — 177 countries, same three brushes.
Step-by-step: make a visited states map.
Open the US map. The gold count card is the answer — Visited + Lived, D.C. off the scoreboard.
